Back in the day, the way I used to really get to know someone was to play a game of asking invasive personal questions with each other.  It was a great way to really break the ice, and you'd be surprised how much someone you don't know very well is willing to tell you--it's not until you've known someone for a while that they have a hard time

You say your poor--and I have been poor poor poor and there is stuff I was ashamed I did to make money--no--I never did shit like that. But what is something you have done for money that you were ashamed of.
