Got kids? Grandkids? Hoping to have some in the future? Hoping to live more than another decade yourself?
Follow this link.I honestly hope that in 8 years I'll get laughed at for believing this stuff - that would be the tastiest humble pie possible and I'd eat it gladly - but unfortunately I think these folks are right

We might be, depending on how compatible your plans are! When are you planning on heading to Victoria, and when are you planning on coming back? Are you staying downtown-ish, or elsewhere? Do you have a vehicle already? I have a CAN van booked just in case but would happily cancel it if a more economical option is available to share. We're planning on staying at one of the Traveller's Inns downtown but haven't booked yet - going to do that this week.
Let me know what you think - if our plans are compatible we'd love to share a ride!

As for staying, I may just stay with friends in Sooke, or my brother who lives right outside of downtown. I can drop you off or pick you up though.

You thinking of going on Friday after work, or Saturday morning? K gets home from work around 4:30p on Fridays. We're pretty flexible about what time to head back to Vancouver on Sunday.

Even with your ** comment, if this is actually true, that every person needs to make a significant change or we will pass a point of no return, then we are well and truly hooped.
That won't stop me, and hasn't stopped me, from making changes in my life but if you are talking about a need to make massive overall change before it is in your face, bombs in the air, mushroom cloud rising clear, then I fear that far to many people will pass you by.

Call me incredibly pessimistic, but I'm afraid that's probably the case. Still, I have some hope, so I continue to live car-free, shop locally, and try my best to make other decisions with that in mind, and continue to come up with other things I can do that might make a difference. Unfortunately, most of the world does *not* seem to be on board with that mindset, so if this diagnosis of the planet's ills is correct then the future is dire indeed.
(Painkillers? You OK? Was it just a really good stag weekend? :-D )
