Because I have nothing better about which to update...
...I'm going to babble about my prom dress, because it makes me extremely happy. So there.
That photo really doesn't do it justice...the fabric itsself is freakin' gorgeous. Here's the site from which I bought it. 8 yards. Dude....8 yards of silk is drool-inducing to touch. Anyway, I wanted something vaguely Moulin Rouge. Not an actual copy of any specific dress, but something with that sort of look. The top is going to be a victorian overbust corset, no busk, back lacing, with a boned, removeable modesty panel so I can wear it with other things, if I want. The skirt is going to be a copy of
. I'm also going to be wearing a black taffeta petticoat underneath the skirt to give it the right shape. Now, the fun part = D I've got black past-elbow length black gloves that I'll be wearing with it, and, my hair will be curled, pinned back from my face, and have a black top hat on it. Oh, and I've got some fabulous peacock feathers and black plumes to go in said hat.
