of course it makes me ... unhappy. angry... maybe not. I guess... anger is an emotion I've been trying to eliminate from my life... it just clouds my ability to think... to act rationally and thoughtfully ( ... )

I stood up... a teenager, and told the truth... I had a vile 'defense' lawyer attack my character, insinuate that I was crazy, that I was a pathological liar... and then I got to see the man who marked my mind and my body with his touch go free... without a mark of guilt upon him.

Then I was denied victims compensation, when I applied to get funding for art therapy... because he was aquitted and the all knowing board "didn't think there was sufficient evidence" that any had happened to me at all...

you're right. It is completely unfair. I was hurt as much, perhaps more, by the trial...

De-lurking to say that at least some men, the decent ones IMHO, wholeheartedly agree with you. Honestly, if anyone did this sort of thing to anyone I know, his best option would be to turn himself in, because he would want the police to find him before I got to him. I've had too many friends go through this sort of thing, and you're right, the system doesn't seem to put much of a priority on either punishing the knuckledraggers who do it or making an example of them as a deterrent. There are other men who feel the same way I do about this kind of monstrosity, believe me.

And speaking as a guy who's had at least one potential relationship derailed due to the trust and intimacy problems left in the wake of someone who did things much like what you describe .. some of us have seen more than anyone should, and for what it's worth, I've got your back if you need it. Whether the law puts a priority on helping you or not.
