I'm really confused, so maybe someone out there can help...

I'll hopefully make it to Early Voting this evening, so, even though I'm quite settled on the one vote I'm casting, I checked out the ballots for both parties.

The Republican presidential ballot shows the choices as:
Mike Huckabee
Hugh Cort - WHO? Cannot find ANY mention of this guy anywhere. Has my Search Fu failed me?
Hoa Tran - WHO? Cannot find ANY mention of this guy anywhere. Has my Search Fu failed me?
Rudy Giuliani - announced his withdrawal on January 30, after the Florida primary
Ron Paul
Duncan Hunter - dropped out on January 19 after the Nevada caucus due to a lack of support
Mitt Romney - officially withdrew February 14
Alan Keyes
John McCain
Fred Thompson - dropped out on January 22.[36] The Thompson campaign confirmed that he would not be endorsing any candidates

The Democratic presidential ballot shows:
Bill Richardson - withdrew after the New Hampshire Primaries
Hillary Clinton
John Edwards - announced he would be suspending his campaign on January 30
Joe Biden - withdrew on January 3, 2008, after the Iowa Caucuses due to lack of support
Christopher Dodd - withdrew on January 3, 2008, after the Iowa Caucuses due to lack of support
Barack Obama

Can someone explain why dropped candidates are on the ballot? What happens to those votes? Do they get "transferred" to the endorsed candidate?
