Oh, before I forget, don't know if this is of any interest to you (the text of the ruling is here), but guessed you probably wouldn't have seen it. I'm not sure what the state of the UK/EU Human Rights law is, but I'm tempted to have a look at the wording to see.

I'm sure Gilbert wrote a play in which a tyrannical monarch forced everybody to speak in iambic pentameter... might have been "His Excellency"... (we had a similar device in "The Wrong Princess" last Hilary, too).
