Smoke Signals

Yes. Um. Hello, Livejournal. I'm not sure whether you'll remember me, but....

Um.

You see, there was there was this... desert island. Yes, that's it. I was... shipwrecked.... on a desert island.

Well, not a desert island as such. Although there may have been palm trees. A palm tree. All right, not a palm tree. Let's provisionally refer to it as a ( Read more... )

We passed you in (a random other person's) car the other day, by museum road. I nearly didn't recognise you; you look very well :-)

(also, which side of the desert island were you on - turtles or oysters??)

Wheeee! Babhack! :D

(Hmmm... I'm distinctly unimpressed by the lack of a vegetarian option on these desert islands; I wonder if I could get a tofu turtle...?) ;)

Ooh, let me know if you'd be interested in coming back for next term's G&S concert - I'll let you sing *aaaaanything*....

In any case, we should meet up for coffee at some point - haven't seen you for jonks!

*blows on fingernails* I still got it!
Hmm... con. cert. Hmmmmmmmm.... (what sort of con. cert..?)
Fee and cake is a good idea, though no idea when right now :-/

The concert, yes. Um. Well, strictly, it's "Trial by Jury" for the first half and a selection of G&S favourites for the second half (this time, we're not doing anything with camel-leopards in...). It'll be performed at St Michael's church on 15th, 16th and 17th May, and I've somehow ended up directing. There isn't going to be what you might call an *intensive* rehearsal schedule - I'm hoping to get away with letting certified hacks turn up on the night to sing in the chorus... and, oh, auditions are next weekend... *fixes you with a pleading gaze* ;)

And yes, there ought to be coffee and cake, if not undisguised hackery... well, let me know if you suddenly develop unforseen gaps in your schedule :)

*waves back to you*

Hullo! I'm glad you are alive. :)

Yay! Me too :)

...I mean, I'm glad *you* are alive too. And that you display LJ-transmissable vital signs in a more consistent manner than I seem to manage :P

(I keep meaning to comment on your post from Saturday. But as the main substance of my comment can be summarized quite succinctly as: "New Who! New Whooo!", I suspect I fail....)

*Waves back and lets out werewolf type howl* I shall see you somepoint next week for auditions I assume (still haven't decided what to sing for you).

Otherwise Hannah and I were possibly thinking of icecream on sunday when I get back and you should join us (because we need lots of revision breaks and obviously our trip to chessington this week is a serious study trip and not for fun at all)xxx

Eek! I'm not sure what scares me more, werewolves or the prospect of getting organized with G&S next week! ;)

Yay, Sunday would be good; I think I'm free for most of that day. Let me know arrangements when they've been... um... arranged :S

That Scramble thing is muchly confuzzling, by the way. And by the time I even noticed the timer, it was too late! Eek! I may just give up and submit to your superior unbefuddling ability :)

Werewolves aren't scary (well as long as you have a sonci screwdriver to hand) Getting G&S organised scares me though, especially since no one has said anything about a committee meeting next week yet and we are meant to be cast by the end of next week. And I think they are recasting Patience next week too (I think I will have to miss Buxton this year I think as all the rehearsals will clash with Edinburgh rehearsals)

Scramble is fun, or at least it is when I'm not playing my sister who has to give me a handicap (she isn't allowed 3 letter words) and then still gets triple my score.

Will be back around 4ish on Sunday (depending how fast I pack sunday morning - currently my packing record is 45 mins - yay for boarding school training). Ice cream around 4.30ish? Don't think I actually have your number.

This waving - is it at all like the waving of a palm tree's fronds?

::waves cheerily from under a pile of thesis::

Ooh... the plot thickens! I feel it may now be necessary for me to carry out a series of comparative measurements of the wavelength, amplitude and wave form of my own waving and that of a palm tree. Any resemblances will be taken as strong evidence of evolutionary affinity (...or maybe just convergence to occupy the same ecological niche-space)!

I hope the thesis is going well :)
