Music is indeed a wonderful analgesic. Since 2005 I have been saying that if I ever have to go through anything painful for which drugs are not adequate or appropriate relief, I want Charles singing lute songs on endless loop over headphones.

It is no surprise that you had so much attention: you are very easy to love, and you seem a good friend to so many people.

(my personal analgesic choice is Polly Jean Harvey played very loudly: pain has no chance against her voice).
