I must say; we watched the 5 doctors last night, and I was embarrassed for how much I loved it as a kid. It did not age well. Or rather, it was really bad and I was not discriminating as a kid. However, Troughton still rocked, as did the Brigadier; given how bad the rest of the script was, I have to feel that Troughton and Courtney ignored the script and did whatever the hell they felt like.

How could anyone dislike The Five Doctors???

I mean, it's like great chunks of my past, detaching themselves like melting icebergs....

;-)

Yeah, OK, it's a bit campy nowadays. So what? So is most of the classic series. I was always glad at what they got right, despite what they may have gotten wrong. If anything, the Five Doctors was important for both the soundtrack and for finally giving the 3rd Doctor a scene with the Cybermen. Up until the Five Doctors, Pertwee never saw the Cybermen.

...that the Raston Warrior Robot appeared on tour with Kyle Minogue (SP?) a few years back is more than coincidental. Honest. ;-)

I didn't say I disliked it.

I said I was embarrassed.

I know I'm totally late (I never get online on the weekends), but your husband commanded the world at large to wish you a happy birthday, so HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I love reading sushigrade's blog only because it makes my heart glad to know that other people in the world are good, happy people.

I hope that you get everything that you deserve for your birthday!
