For the most part you are correct. Captain Kidd, yes the infamous Captain Kidd, wore a powdered wig and the ever fashionable lead based face make-up of the 18th century. When Blackbeard met him, he laughed at the 'Dandy' and unofficially took control of his ship, all the while mocking Kidd.
