Welp, I did it.
Finished NaNo for the second year in a row (woot woot!), and am currently "detox-ing'' by... typing up last year's. What's wrong with me again?
Anyway, life's pretty busy right now, what with finals looming and a new job to hold down PLUS regular classes and attempts at a social life, but all in all, it's good. I'm happy at university - it feels almost like I was waiting all through high school for university to hit. I love my classes, I'm meeting new people and feel almost like a normal human being who has SOCIAL INTERACTIONS WITH PEOPLE. SHOCK! AWE! I'm still writing, of course, though I'm a little burned out from November, so I probably won't be posting any new fanfic/Untitled for a week or so (once finals are done with on Dec. 17th, I'll have more time to work on that). Luckily, I have found many inspiring/generally awesome ideas for both fanfic and original fic over the course of November, so hopefully I'll actually get to being somewhere closer to "prolific"! School's done on Wednesday (or at least regular classes are), which I am looking forward to immensely. Mostly because it means that I won't have to worry (as much) about assignments and classes, and can focus on work, writing and Christmas shopping.
In other news, I've got two more social/artistic (I guess?) things brewing right now, the first being that myself and a few friends from choir have decided to put together a band. And not just any type of band, no, we've put together an anime music cover band. And here I thought that I'd hit the lowest level of nerd-dom that I was ever going to. Ah well; it's fun! I'm the lead vocalist, since a) I've been taking Japanese so I know how to pronounce the lyrics and b) apparently there's not much use for flute/alto sax/really crappy acoustic guitar in an anime cover band. Thank god that I love to sing. Also, we've got an S(bass player)A(yours truly)T(lead guitar)B(drummer) setup at this point, all of whom have vocal training of some description, so hopefully I can convince my bandmates that something a capella would be awesome too... kekekeke.
The second project I've got going (though this is more in the conceptual stage) is with a different friend of mine. Have any of you heard of Channel Awesome/That Guy With The Glasses/The Spoony One/etc? Because that's basically what we're planning to try. We've decided (perhaps foolishly) that we want to start reviewing movie musicals on the internet, completely on a whim. And it's gotten pretty serious; we're considering how we'd film it, what kind of camera and editing software we should get, which movies we should watch, and even have a script drafted for the first movie we'd review. This, ladies and gentlemen, is exactly how awesome my friends are. We're still working on the 'actually buying a camera and starting to film' bits, but otherwise we're pretty darn set on doing this. You might be seeing a youtube.com link on here in the near future...
