I Have to Spite This. ranguvar42 August 9 2012, 03:24:00 UTC
Guess what? This is now the number one best seller in the UK! I'm so...depressed. :(

So, here's a spite fic.

"Shit! It's my mother!"Christian sighed in annoyance. "Come in, Mother." The door opened, and he turned, ready to confront his crack whore mother. "Mother, I...who the hell are you ( ... )

Awesome! I like everything about this - the proactive and interesting character of Maeve, the deserved punishment of Christian, the implied romance that Maeve has with her werewolf husband, everything. Keep it up! :D

And I hope that your fantasy novel does take off, I'd love to read it! ^^

Thanks. The romance bit came about as a response to all the YA novels that portray romance in a very creepy and unhealthy way.(This, Twilight, Hush, Hush..)Plus, I got tired of seeing high school drama played out over and over. "Oh, I love him, but he's looking at that girl! How dare he!" Or "I \ want to be a sparkly immortal being and my boyfriend wants to kill me and drain me dry!"

So I figured I'd write a character that has no problem with her love interest looking-hell, she looks too. ;) She also has no desire to be immortal(and her husband can't turn her anyway).

Aww, thanks again. :)

Continuing!

(I figured I'd do a bit from Ana's POV with my main male character)

Beep. Beep. Beep.

I blink my eyes, the world becoming less fuzzy as my brain struggles to process what's going on. I lick dry lips, and realize that I'm lying in a hospital bed, hooked up to machines. There's one monitoring my heart-beat, and another helping me breathe. Weakly, I lift my head and observe the IV hooked into my arm. I quickly turn away-I've always been squeamish when it comes to blood.

My brain still isn't quite working, though. All I can recall are images-a grey creature, a woman, and then nothing. Grey...Grey...my brain tries to process this word, but all I can think of is the old folk song "Go Tell Aunt Rhodie." What could it mean? I'm racking my brain for answer when a deep, rich voice interrupts my thoughts.

"Anastasia Steele?"

My eyes go wide at the tall, dark, and handsome man standing in the door to my room. He's got the physique and dark tan of someone who spends a lot of time outdoors, and his black hair nearly touches ( ... )
