Merry Christmas! Congrats on the Yuletide stuff! I really need to just get my shit together and read Swordspoint. It'll be good to know that there's fic waiting for me when I'm done! But Yuletide always makes me happy-- I comb through every year to see if there's fic of stuff I want! I may actually participate next year-- I'd love to see fic of, actually, Madeline L'Engle books, and Dexter.

I actually hate Chinese food, which makes Christmas dinners suck a little? We do Christmas, but we never did Christmas Dinner, until this year. I was going to put my foot down and demand to be allowed to cook, but my folks actually preempted me; I'm making a roast with my father, popovers with my mother, and then also mashed potatoes and greenbeans, but the interesting part is a recipe for Butternut Squash Apple Soup I've been wanting to try. I'll let you know how that turns out, and I want to hear your menu! (How does a Vegan/Gourmet/Catholic do Christmas dinner, you know?)

Love!

Okay, so my Butternut Squash Apple soup, which I got from a Barefoot Contessa cookbook, turned out so incredibly good (seriously you have to try this)that I have to share the recipe. It's vegetarian, and I'm pretty sure there's nothing to stop it being vegan except the butter, which is an easy fix: sub in vegetable oil. So here you go, and I hope you enjoy ( ... )
