In terms of what I'm going to be doing, at the start I've just been shadowing around a few doctors and helping out where I can -- sorting out charts, putting up books in the stock rooms, that sort of thing. Over the next few days, though, I'm going to be helping with reading and play therapy -- in other words, I'm going to play with severely malnourished kids to try and get their senses and brains working. It's very important to development!
And it's a combination of just deciding and going on a program -- my school has a winter term thing where we're supposed to find internships. My parents are actually friends with the people I'm staying with who run the clinic, so instead of following one of the school-provided internships, I set this up. I'm going to be here for about three weeks, or until the twenty-third.
