My mother first relented a bit when I told her that my exchange university in Nara wrote me an e-mail asking me in no uncertain terms to be back at the beginning of April for class orientation, that my home university had a meeting where the majority of teachers were in favour of sending exchange students to Kansai area universities back (though not Tokyo area universities).
Today, my doctors told me I'm fine living on my own again and I shouldn't have to worry about the grafted skin falling off or anything, which was the last official 'it's fine' message my mother needed.
The rest, we discussed. Every day. About three to four times. I told her Kansai is deemed safe by authorities, that no significant radiation has been detected in Nara-ken, that I could, should I have to, hop onto the Shinkansen to Kumamoto to stay with friends for a day or two before hopping onto the next flight to Germany from the not-as-busy-as-Kansai-Intl Fukuoka airport, that every other
