As for the pic, I'm not the greatest art critic in the world, not am I sure what you could change if you wanted to. Allow me to say it's gorgeous and the lighting effects are wonderful. If I had to pick on something I'd say Charles' (that is him, correct?) eyes look maybe a tad squinty, especially in the full-length pose, though perhaps that's just your style? That... ribbon looking thing that's behind the sword that's apparently a part of that dragon's head (that is a dragon? It's wicked cool whatever it is) looks like it's floating in the air a bit and I can't tell what it is. Then again maybe I'm clueless as usual.
I of course won't show it to anyone, however if you like you could ask lushdesolation to take a look, she's an artist herself and a merciless critic when asked to be.
Those are my little weird and possibly invalid nitpicks anyway, it's a wondeful piece of work that makes me really want to see the rest.

I wasn't in need of the greatest art critic in the world, anyway. All I needed was just the opinion of a potential reader ^^' Even at this stage, I could basically change just about anything - The wonders of Digital Graphic Editing The Problem is the limited amount of time that I've got on my hands. I've got many more pages left to do, plus a full colour cover, really not so sure if I'll be able to get it all done in time "If I had to pick on something I'd say Charles' (that is him, correct?) eyes look maybe a tad squinty, especially in the full-length pose, though perhaps that's just your style?"
Yes, it's him, still having trouble with more complicated angles, so I hope he's recognizable ._.' As for his eyes, he's supposed to have a somewhat concerned/ disquieted look, not sure if that really comes across. But it shouldn't be much work to change the eyes some "That... ribbon looking thing that's

Actually Charles was perfectly recognizable. I just live in fear in fear of saying something ignorant. (and of admitting that I'm fangirling a character without knowing his personality). And I would say I could recognize the disconcerted aspect, just maybe I'm too used to big anime eyes?
As I said I can't wait to see more when you're done. And I would be Shadsie (lushdesolation) would enjoy seeing the creature... she creates lots of them.
Mean horns? I should have know that.
Oh, and while I'm spamming your LJ here (sorry), may I put you on my friends list?
Overall, it is a bit dark. You may want to lighten the top scene just a tiny bit. The character does look like he's squinting in the full view, but I like it. I love that dragon with the forward facing horns. (I'm a lover of mythical creatures). I'm not sure what the white thing behind him is... that jaggedness. If it is supposed to be smoke, it should be more wispy, softer.
I love how your character has a strong nose and small eyes. Most manga give characters large eyes - while I prefer smaller, more realistic eyes myself.
Overall, I really like this. Very nicely done. Much more "manga - style" than I'm able to draw.

Hmm, Thanks, I'll consider that.
Does a dragon need to be reptilian? Because it's more of a strange hybrid, mostly canine though, aside from the wings, of course. Well and the horns. And...other parts o.o Either way, glad you like it ^^'

Well, it is supposed to be...smoky... I'm still fighting with styles here. Whether to do things realistic or in a more stylized manner. But I agree, it needs some work ^^'

Agreed. Same here ^^'
Thank You, for your suggestion and just for dropping by to have a look ^_^
Hmmmm. I think dragons can be canine just a bit. It depends on your fantasy, whether you're going for more "accurate myth" or your own thing.
Have you ever seen the movie "The Neverending Story"? The movie was a favorite of mine when I was a kid. One of the main characters was a "Luck Dragon" named Falcor. He was a dog hybrid. He looked like a giant white dog and had no wings. He could fly, though, when he spread his big floppy ears out. He had scales on his belly and fur on the rest of his body.
As for me, I prefer to make up my own creatures. I have several races of my own varients on the gryphon in my novel's world.
Saw that movie, that dog-dragon-thing is cute ^^ And I'm making up most of my stories' creatures myself, too. Usually based on existing mythological beings but I'm changing and mixing up things a lot, so the results should be fairly original, or so I hope
