The US really needs to outlaw selling baby rodents as "feeders" for snakes, and they need to make it illegal for zoos to practice feeding live animals to reptiles. I can't stand most zoos at all for a number of reasons. I mean, why would I want to see an unfit and bored tiger? No matter how many fake trees and ropes and rocks they stick in those tiny compounds it isn't enough for these smart creatures. Don't get me started about the ones born into the zoo. I can almost stomach the idea of an injured or otherwise unfit for the wild animal to retire at the zoo, but having second generation inmates? Meh.

Random fact: There are wild rats living in colonies in the zoo. Escaped ones that have found places to hide and live off of the grains and food given to animals that are not their predators.
