Al uses hair gel. He does not realize he is the poster boy for visine.

Will doesn't hate spiders, but he doesn't like them either. And yes, he killed Monica.

He cares about Birkin the most. I suppose he has some soldier bonds with Krauser and HUNK. And that is about it.

Does Albert care that he isn't really human anymore or is that what he's striving for?

There is a very small part of him that misses his human self. However, his Tyrant instincts have pushed any regret away from his mind. He can no longer look to the past; he has to keep moving forward.

No doubt, he was much more stable as a human, and that is probably something he misses and longs for.

Does your Wesker have a purpose to all the madness, like an actual goal beyond "research"?

Yes. He has a very definite goal that would explain for all of this. He wants to create a better breed of humans that are similar to him and Birkin.
