I feel like I should say something about where I went. There was a year and a half when parenthood stole my brain and I didn't write anything at all. And another year I tried to write and tormented Martha with three unfinished stories. And for the last year (an entire year, yes) a lot of New World Zorro ( Read more... )

Hi! I'm so glad you posted - I was a bit worried about what had happened to you.

Parenting is the leading cause of brain eating. I suspect it's why we always thought ours were zombies when we were young.

I'm so glad you posted this. Imperfections is one of my favorite series and I'm happy to have more of this. Nice remake of the Alcante storyline :)

I've indulged myself by re-reading the whole thing. My second favorite thing about your stories are the perspective on action heroes as vulnerable people (your first words describing sentinels to Blair), where tough guys like McLeod aren't expected to solider on though sleeplessness and hunger. Too often, books act like real heroes can keep running for hours, working for days, never catch cold -- like we're failures for not living our lives like that. You don't take away their victories, but it's nice to see the impervious gloss taken off their lives ( ... )

Hmmm. If I were getting paid...it would be fair to expect me to write on a schedule. And GRRM really needs to stop bragging about his new tv series when the next book is over 2 years overdue.
