mmm i wasn't aware of all the different publications on campus. is there a list somewhere with ALL of them on there?

and what's that Squirm thing i always hear about? i've heard everything from it's a porn magazine to it's just a group that puts on erotic-ish events.

Vassar Experience BSC all the way. That's my number one, and I hope to see you there.

PS: I'm def. not an outdoorsy one, either :)

yes! keep me posted as to if that's the one they put you in or not.

i like looking at the outdoors.. but actually being emmersed [spelling?] in it for hours on end is not my thing.

oh, and this may sound creepy, but from your userinfo and some of your entries, i always thought you seem like someone i'd really get along with [or at least has a lot of the same interests]. i guess i'll have to wait and see if i'm wrong or not.

orientation week is really amazing. it is the best time you have at vassar (have you heard people refer to it as "camp vassar" yet?). it's excellent. so much time to meet & get to know people. i also have serious social anxiety, but there are so many different types of social things scheduled that it's easy to feel comfortable at least somewhere (student fellow groups for example). another thing htat was insanely helpful was that i knew kids from lj (i don't know whether to feel like a nerd about that or not), but we all met up the first night and wandered around campus and wound up going to someone's room and hanging out. wow. i miss orientation week. i miss vassar.

for the bsc, i did community service and it was fun. we baked things and sold them to the administration for a breast cancer thing. i heard sustainability is really cool, too.

best of luck and it will all fall into place. don't worry!

in the back of my mind i know it will be a blast and that all my worrying will seem completely pointless once i've gone through it. but many thanks for the calming thoughts.

i wanted to do the community service one.. but i talked to someone who had done it, i think 2 years ago, and he had to clean out a swamp all day and said everyone had way too many mosquito bites before classes even started. baking and selling things would be cool, but i don't want to take the chance.. ya know what i mean?

so there are definitely times to meet other kids in smaller groups? i was just afraid that since the BSC groups would be so large [or at least i think so because theres over 600 kids and only about 10 groups] and that's the hard part for me. i much prefer playing improv games in a group of 15 or talking in a dorm room with 6 or so kids. i want to really get to know people, not just learn their name and location.

ahhh you don't know how much you are helping calm my nerves. let's just say, a lot.

and i could very likely make a stop at that starbucks next time i'm in the city. i'm drawing a blank of what it's near though. is it either: a. university city b. near the Walnut St Theater c. near south street or d. none of the above?

yay vassar experience! uh, oh. how many people picked that?

I think I had tubing and maybe backpacking down as my other ones.

All the online people should definitely meet up and actually see who we've been talking to the past few months :-) I feel like I know so many people already!

yeah start convincing people to choose other ones so that there's plenty of spots for us! haha.

i'm loving the online people meet up thing. well, more of an lj-people meet up, because i feel i "know" these people better than everyone on the message boards and there's fewer of us. what do you think?
