i visited your community, it looks nice.. not really my style though, sorry :-( but if anyone tells me they like Grease... i know where to send them!

You're in my friends' old room. Depending on how you space it out, it is not that small. The sophomores down your hall are amazing--they were my student fellow group. The juniors way down the hall are the crazy partiers, but since they are at the end, it won't be too bad. Also, you are in what we call the "armpit" of the hall [the very end, which has a set of double doors to keep out the noise], and you're at the end with two bathrooms--yours of which is the less used and has the good shower.

Don't worry about the AA reputation. You're gonna have a great time.

hey thanks so much for the info!

a girl i talked to online wanted to know if room 404 was also in the 'armpit'?

are there stairs on one side of the double doors? or... just completely random double doors? i guess keeping out the noise will be awesome for sleeping/studying though, even if i'm kind of secluded.

actually the thing the worried me most about the AA rep was the noise and condition of the bathrooms. but it seems like my room is in the best possible location for that. i like to party, so i'm happy to have some crazy upperclassmen nearby.

are you not living in lathrop next year?

Yes, room 404 is also in the armpit--directly across from you. You guys will be in the same student fellow group.

How the hall works is there are three upperclassmen rooms in the corner, then yours, then double doors, then the bathroom, then another set of double doors, then another bathroom. Same goes for the 404 side, except for the bathrooms; stairs are between the doors instead.

If i recall correctly, the corner rooms are occupied by all males, some who are minor partiers. One kid is named Brad. He's fun. And I'm sure you'll be having fun with the bathroom situation, heh.

No, I will not be in Lathrop; I am moving to Ferry. However, I am sure you will get to know me soon enough because I'll definitely be up there visiting all the time.

are there elevators in the dorm by any chance? also space wise do you think there is room for a bookshelf?

The only dorms with elevators are Jewett and Main. Don't worry, your ass will enjoy the workout. Or, get so dumb that you won't even feel it. =)

Space really depends on whether or not you bunk the beds and the layout you choose.

Bookshelfwise, I would not suggest getting a real one with all four walls and five shelves and a back. There is room for a smaller one--like the kind that folds up or the kinds that are made up of racks. I am not particularly skilled at being descriptive, so IM me [AIM: Smurfarella] and i'll try to be more articulate or find a pic for you or something. One thing my roommate had was one of those shelving units that you can put atop a desk or dresser, if you want to consider investing in that. I personally did not want to, so i had a couple of those five dollar crates that i stuck on top of my dresser and under the desk.
