It took me a while, but I figured out today that someone is giving me the silent treatment. I was previously worried that they were in a hospital or something somewhere ( Read more... )

have you figured out why they are giving you the silent treatment? don't get me wrong, we've all done it but at this point in your life do you really need someone in your life whose going to shut you out and not even tell you why?
i'm glad to hear your ear issues have gone away(no pun intended).

I don't know why they've shut me out. Since they don't reply to email or telephone there's no way for me to find out. The last time it happened I didn't find out until 6 months later.

There's a saying, if you lend a friend 20 bucks and you never see them again, it was worth it. Maybe that applies here.

I'm glad the ear thing cleared up too. I hope you never experience anything like it.

I used to get chronic ear infections when I was growing up and because of that I now have to be extremely careful to cover my ears in the cold or I'll suffer. I totally know the pain you are describing...I'm so glad you're doing better!!

I wonder if I need to cover my ears when they're cold? I wear a pretty thick hat. Supposedly I'm supposed to keep them from getting wet. I don't know how long I can keep that up for. I hope to be swimming a lot again soon.

Sometimes I wonder if some people will ever be able to act beyond a high school level. The silent treatment is sophomoric to begin with but it is well beyond such a level when you don't even acknowledge the reason. You're better off. Nothing good can come from someone who disregards the emotions of others in such a way.
Glad to hear your health has picked back up. Ear infections are quite bothersome. Especially when they begin to effect your equilibrium. My boyfriend had a double ear infection that made him so unbalanced that he literally could barely stay on his feet. Oh and you should cover your ears as often as possible when outdoors until you are well beyond the infection. Especially when they are cold.

Well wishes!
XO

You could say I've been precisely there fairly recently.

I want to know why I get the silent treatment from you. Am I a shitty friend? I would like to work on it. Lemme know.

Are you kidding? I don't give you the silent treatment. I think I usually respond to your emails and calls.
You're not a shitty friend, you rock. We just live very far apart and never run into one another.
I'm sorry if you've felt that way, it's certainly not intentional.

The reason we never hang out is because we've never lived anywhere near each other. You probably live about 150 miles from where I live. That and when you leave CT, you go to NJ which I also don't live near or go to. TTYS.
