Added bonus: the state's largest newspaper laid off 45 employees yesterday, most of them in the newsroom. So the glut of reporters, copy editors and photographers in Oklahoma continues to grow and the prospects of getting a full-time job in this state in the field I want get even dimmer.

Great.

It doesn't look like the Tulsa World will be hiring any full-time reporters anytime soon thanks to a financially craptastic December. So it looks like I'll be stepping up the search for additional media outlets that could use an Indian affairs freelance reporter. Or a freelancer to cover other stuff.  A couple of nights ago, I dreamt that I went back to law school, did a semester, then left again. Although it was only a dream, I woke up as stressed and exhausted as I was during my time at TU.  A couple of weeks ago, I was diagnosed with bronchitis with a dangerously low blood oxygen level on the side. I was given a round each of steroids and antibiotics (because my upper respiratory tract was overreacting to the bronchitis), an inhaler and sent on my merry way with instructions to go straight to the emergency room if it got worse ( Read more... )

 Doing a bit better. Still coughing, but nowhere near as much as Friday night or Saturday morning. Having an easier time breathing as well, which is definitely welcome.
