+ So, in my search of having something lighthearted to watch in-between episodes of The Wire, I started watching
Rizzoli&Isles. I like their relation quite a lot but everything else is so fucking terrible. Most dialogs make me cringe, and I'm gonna end up straining something with all the eye-rolling everything police related provokes. I mean, really Jane? You have a serial killer after you, an unknown person tells you your neighbor is dead in an unmarked van, and you get in without second thought? REALLY, JANE? And don't get me started on the lame-ass tries at techno-babble and the complete lack of anything resembling protocol. I swear I've struggled to get through some eps. Also, that shooting angle in S1's last scene? I don't buy it.
+ I've also watched Luther and it has been such a pleasant surprise. I decided to watch it because I had seen pretty caps of the Extremely Attractive Idris Elba having what seemed very interesting UST with Ruth Wilson; I'm easy like that.
For those who haven't seen it, the show supposedly is about this smart cop with a tendency to drift to morally gray areas, but it's actually about how he and a super!smart sociopath have ridiculous amounts of chemistry and a lovely dysfunctional relationship. It's a thing of beauty. And the cases are good too.
- I'm not very happy about having no Alice in the last episode, but I kind of hope she will be back for the finale. I *really* love Alice and I'd be Very Pissed if she didn't come back.
- I think the fourth episode in the first season is one of the best things I've seen on TV lately. The wife's characterization was brilliant.
- I'm liking quite a lot what they are doing with Justin. It says a lot that they are managing to make good supporting characters with the larger than life leads the show has. He was also absolutely great in the first two eps of the second season.
+ Aldis Hodge. Excuse me while I swoon. (Also, even though Leverage is as entertaining as ever, the product placement for Microsoft in the last episode was RIDICULOUS, and I'm not even talking about a ~hacker carrying around a laptop with Windows as OS)
+ The other day I had the thought that I really want to know how Lincoln would interact with Olivia. Obviously not as much as Olivia&Alt!Olivia, but you know, enough. I'd read fic about it. Although I'd read fic about LOTS of things, so that's not really noteworthy.
+ Fic. Dear LotS fandom, please, please, PLEASE, produce more epic long C/K fics. The summer's long and the number of re-reads on the ones already published is way over any amount that could be considered non-embarrassing. It really has gotten ridiculous and I'm not above begging. Thanks in advance! Love, me.
+ I watched Rango. IMDb told me later that Claudia Black is in it. She has one fucking sentence in the whole fucking movie. How the same person that pulled off beautifully both The Choice and John Quixote is voicing one-line characters or doing crappy guest roles in things like NCIS or 90210, is unexplainable to me.
+ Maurissa Tancharoen has a blog. I like her quite a lot.
+ RL is being a bit weird and a tad unpredictable. Not in a BAD way as it has tended to do in the past, but you know, mostly disappointing. Specially holidays-wise. Then again, it can always be worse, so I'll take "disappointing" over a whole lot of other options.
Any suggestions on what else I could watch this summer?
