 i probably shouldn't be posting anything because i'm half drunk, and i'm not in a very good mood.  in short, for the first time i actually organized an event amongst my friends, everyone left earlier than ever, one after the other, like it was a good time to escape before the wormhole collapsed and everyone was trapped.  i'm a little peeved

I'm sorry you felt abandoned Friday night. It was a nice get together and a great documentary. I'm glad you invited me. I personally was just too exhausted to stay up through another movie. I'd had nearly two weeks of little or no sleep. Robin had to be awake 5 am the next morning. The Chrises had to catch a bus home. Ron had to work. It's not like everyone left to go to another party.

This is why I prefer doing things on Saturday night. On Fridays I'm usually too tired to do much. But Saturday night I'm bright eyed and bushy tailed because I got to sleep late the ngiht before, and don't have to get up early the next day.

actually i knew your situation, i was more curious about Ron and the Cs because normally they never leave that early. it wasn't even completely dark yet. buses do run past 9:30 as well. even if someone has to work the next day you can stay for another feature. and besides, i offered up friday OR saturday and the response i got was that it didn't matter to anyone. personally i think they were just bored and catching a bus was a good excuse to leave. that's fine, whatever, i'm just not going to waste a lot of time organizing an event any time soon. i've been at many parties with the chrises on Friday, and i'd have to say them leaving at midnight would have been early, so 9:30 is unprecedented. i've been over at Bill's past 9:30 with everyone on a weeknight! and actually i just did a quick search, and a bus picks up a couple of blocks from Bill's as late as 1 am. so whatever. yeah i'm a little hurt. it's not about you, i just wasn't expecting everyone else to go. even Robin apologized for somehow initiating an exodus.

Well the past few times I've hung out with the Chrises, they've left earlier than usual. I'm not sure what's going on with them. I don't think it had anything to do with the get together.

And the Mcnamara thing was really interesting, and I'm not even into politics or history.

So my point is, it wasn't you. It was them. Don't take it personally!

well, it just seems really odd. the first few times i hung out with them we didn't leave until 3 or 4. then this past winter that turned into midnight-ish. if 9:30 is the new midnight on friday then i think i may find myself doing more things on my own for a while.
