Backing out of agreements and accords because they are no longer politically expedient? Gosh, I wonder where he got the idea THAT was acceptable behavior?

(Best guess I've heard is they're working on maneuverable warheads that can get past our so-far-non-existant star wars missile defense shield)

How is earning worldwide enmity more expedient than not building new nukes, of which you've already got WAY more than enough?

Eh, it's just a matter of making sure that W doesn't get too big for his britches. The only added functionality or special feature of these new nukes is "they'll get past a missile defense shield". Which the rest of the world doesn't have, so I don't necessarily know that they'll care overly much. It's a move aimed solely at US because the jackass-in-chief wants a missile shield and is pushing for development of new nukes his own damn self.

It's designed to keep us from acting with impunity. Kind of a novel concept, that.
