Well where to begin. Its been 3 months since I've posted but even then I was writing little of consequence. In the past this page has mostly been a space for me to tell people my opinion on various pieces of pop culture and then as a page usually to complain about anything that I wanted to complain about usually relating to doctors or the stupidity ( Read more... )

Even Beth loved it, which surprised me a lot. It just shows how far I've gone in converting her I guess.
If by this you mean exploiting my highly naive and impressionable self and molding me to your whim like that cool episode from Next Gen with the lady that played Jean Gray acting as "build a wife", then yes. You've done well. ;)

See? I even referenced Star Trek just now. 5 years ago that would have NEVER happened. ♥

Naw, actually the person I'd like to chat with is Terrence Dicks, probably the most influential influence on Doctor Who of all. I'm actually not a big fan of him or Rhys. I liked the other four members of Torchwood a lot more and they killed two of them. Ianto is just...mopy.

Anyhow, now I just checked and they've added Louise Jameson and Frazer Hines so I have to go now.

Mopy? he kinda got over that. He actually had a character arc which is refreshing, I think. From a secretive Sasami to (understandably) mopy to finally figuring out what he really wanted. He was quite happy in the second series. Plus he had a lot of the good lines, can't beat that. ;) They needed someone to bring them back down to Earth at times and I think that was his essential role. Plus I think he did it really well, considering how little was actually on the page at times ( ... )

Actually it was season 2 that I was thinking of. "Oh why did you ever leave us Jack," etc etc etc. The second season was enough to turn me off Torchwood. It was a good idea that showed some promise but that second season just had more of the stuff that I didn't like about the first one and less of what I did like, pretty much the way that the Doctor Who series progressed.

RTD likes bitchy women for some reason. I do not understand his fascination but if you can ever stomch the first season of the Sarah Jane adventures then you'll see that he just loved unlikable women, kinda like Akira Toriyama but we've already been down this speculation train. :-)
