8 Days

So, my break lasted 8 days until things hit the fan to the point where I have to poke my nose in and kibosh stuff. Now, I'll admit I don't know everything of what all's going on, but I've heard enough ( Read more... )

Yeah, I really think you need at least one more admin to help take the load off you. You don't need a break where you come back to built up problems. You need a break where you come back refreshed because someone else has taken care of the problems. You do so much, which I and others really appreciate, but you really do need someone else handling things too. I know you like to pretty manage it all.. but obviously it's hurting you more than helping.

This makes me kind of glad I haven't dipped in recently. Oi. You don't need this, seriously. I gotta admit, some of the stuff about the politics and policing and and what not kinda went over my head at times. I thought Lucidia was a bit more open ended, and thus played that way. Thankfully I hadn't really gotten involved in any of the mentioned drama-junk.

Either way, do what you gotta do. The moment this project is no longer fun, is the moment you should drop it and move onto less stressful things.

Well, this shows how much I pay attention to my admin-side list of players. :p

The big issues I have with people coming up with nations and the like are it gives them a tremendous advantage over others through resources, and I'd intended international drama to be something for GM'd RP's I'd run later. Like sending likely peeps out in a cov-ops fashion or some such.

For participation in-chat, the police bit is to give people some semi-realistic results for their actions, given that this is a domestic region. I've always seen the chat, especially the chat location, as a place for light combat at best and much more focused on open-ended social plotlines.

Ahh that clarifies things a lot further for me.

Yeah I figured all that international hoobajoob would be for private gaming and serious campaigns run by GMS.

I understand the idea of a consequence in the chat, so I liked that idea. I just really had no way of understanding how it'd be enforced lol, or how seriously it'd be taken.

Thankfully everyone I've interacted with is generally open-minded, literate and un-godmoding! Then again the populace I come in contact is a small fraction and only on late nights, haha. It is a fun place, and it amazes me that you are running it. You crazy man you.

Depending on the maturity of the arrested character's player... I had one pop back up not twenty minutes after Z arrested him, claiming he'd "escaped from prison."

I chose not to debate that point, it would have been rather like tearing down a concrete wall with a toothpick.

Maybe if you hadn't done something as dumb as put the lid on the Dream without having another forum ready to go, you wouldn't be having these problems.

Just saying.

Wow. Really?

No wonder he's irritated with running it!

The TRUE owner of the Master Zen Dao Meow site didn't give ample time for Dat to get Lucidia up and tested at 100%. With Dat having to assist in closing up that particular shop, etc, with no friendly extensions (hell when the Lucidia chat was functional Schaefer basically punted everyone over to the site by shutting down MZDMs tagboard)... what?

So do us all a favor and put your foot in your mouth. A stupid 'durhur' attitude like yours, is a cankerous problem and most certainly not one that'll get Dat to do any coding or any further building on the forums any faster.

Care to put a name to this crap, or are you too afraid to stand publicly by your words?
