[Someone just got up, wandered through the apartment, had a shower and returned to her room without notifying anyone else in the apartment, and is now sitting on the edge of her bed, towel drying her hair like a huge jerk]

And for my next trick - actually, I think I might be all out of things to pull off here that I didn't otherwise know were ( Read more... )

[Yup, he's listened to it all, apart from the private sections of course and he's opened his mouth as if to speak, breathes out as he closes his mouth kind of like a sigh to be more honest. He then takes a breath in, raises his left hand that's got his index finger pointing up and his brow if creased in confusion.]

What have turnips got to do with anything?

[She pauses for a moment, and then laughs, putting on the Orlesian accent again] Ferelden turnip is a favourite insult of the Orlesians. [The accent drops] Apparently they think we're uncivilised.

...Not exactly the best people at coming up with insults, huh? Turnips are pretty hard, they'd hurt if you got hit by one.

Is that how they really sound? They can't judge with silly accents like that and lame insults.

Oh, I don't know. They managed to throw a 'mongrel' and a 'who-horrible person' or two in there.

...No, you're right, those insults really are terrible.

So...is there a theme I'm missing? Vegetables and dogs, so what's your home really like?

Ferelden is...wet. It's in the south, it rains a lot there, and we have a fondness for dog. There aren't palaces like Orlais - more castles and forts, really. There are a lot of farms, and it's ruled by a monarchy, but the ruler is elected by the nobles rather that born to it. I've not lived there for some time, though - haven't even seen it for a decade, actually.

I had a fort once. Was made of really compacted snow, got a lot of damage done to it.

I haven't seen my home in a while either, not quite so long though. I come from the South Pole, so where it's wet for you, it's cold and frozen for me.

[But he looks alright about this and smiles.]

We have a Chief.

A snow fort? Now there's an idea...

Oh, believe me, Ferelden does cold and frozen just as well as it does wet. But a Chief, you say?

It was pretty awesome. Never seen anything like it to this day. [Chest swelling with pride.]

Sounds miserable. You know, just the wet thing. Yeah, he's my dad but he went with the others to fight in the war.

If we ever get snow on this Maker-forsaken planet, you'll have to show me how it's done!

That...is a fairly accurate description, actually. [A considering pause] So that would make you...what, Chief-in-law? Chief Regent? Vice Chief?
