[ The last place Steve remembers being is at SHIELD headquarters. Yet, one look out the window of his room, and he quickly realizes that's not where he is now.

It's taken a bit of time getting used to, and really, it's only been a couple of weeks since he's woken up almost seventy years from the time he last remembers. Fury wanted him prepared and ( Read more... )

[ Looks at the robot, then back at the datapad. ]

The robot has my clothes?

[Confused? Yup.]

[there's a pause]

The robot has a new set of clothes because inter dimensional travel ate your old ones?

[ Disappears to get the clothes. But, you can still hear him. ]

So, this isn't a training exercise?

Because the view is delectable?

I don't believe Fury is here, though, unless he is a recent arrival and has been keeping away from the network.

The blush only improves the view, you know.

And no, he hasn't been drawn here for now - which can change without any warning, but still. Oh, and - you have been drawn back through time and probably rather far from your original location, in the middle of a war which oh so very few people have heard about. If you ever get curious about the war itself, Professor Charles Xavier has recently made a series of network ... lectures about it.

But in a very tight package, in this time and place, there are people of different species who are sensitive to the Force, the ... cumulative energy of all living things. It enables them to do rather a lot more than ordinary beings of each of those species can. As just about any kind of power, it has a darker side, destructive and merciless. The two war for dominion over the known galaxy, and somebody on the dark side - Darth Revan - has decided to go a bit further afield than many would in recruiting. Congratulations.

[Good thing he can handle absorbing the information the first time she says it.

He nods in full understanding. It all seems a bit far-fetched, but then again, the last year (well, that he remembers) hasn't exactly been what your normal joe goes through.]

This Darth Revan believe that everyone he draws here will fight for his cause? That's not how I do things.

He's never been the most clear guy about his visions. Must be the one eye thing. Unless you know another Fury, which is entirely possible.

No, that sounds like the Fury I know.

So, who are you?

tonywankenobi December 30 2011, 15:47:40 UTC
Excellent, that saves a lot of awkwardness.

Tony Stark. I wouldn't go around asking people about this but I am pretty much one up from Fury. Cooler, handsomer...in fact, I'm his boss. Gotta take him down a notch from time to time.

[ It's pretty obvious that he's not being entirely truthful. ]

Nice to meet you, and you are?

[Stark? That garners a very sharp eyebrow raise, and as he continues listening, he definitely can tell that you're full of it, Tony.

He hasn't met you yet, but be damned if he doesn't believe your somehow related to Howard on looks alone.]

Captain Steve Rogers, nice to meet you, too.

Welcome to insanity.

Want a beer? That's pretty much been my strategy.

That's definitely what it feels like.

.. They have beer up here?

danno_williams December 30 2011, 04:44:58 UTC
Yep, all sorts.

I haven't asked what it's made of... and some of the alien alcohol? Is insane.

Might be a good idea if you didn't.

But, yeah, sure. A beer sounds good. I haven't been out of the room yet, but I can meet you somewhere.

Not been here that long, myself, sir, but that's what I've been told. Looks like we've been pulled in to aid with a war effort, or something.

The details aren't clear, unfortunately, sir.

Anyone here know the details?

You a soldier? [Calling him 'sir' warrants the question]
