[ It's a while before he speaks up, knowing he and Charles have shared this conversation twice over Alex and the others. Erik pointing out they weren't old enough to fight, let alone go after Shaw. All it took for him to change his mind was a single incident where Darwin died, a single motion that had Erik changing his tune from they were kids; Shaw's got an army, we need ours.

Claire's been through more than that, just as much as Sean and Alex have, and he's not about to let her sit out because of some upbringing. ]

She wants to outright ask him to help her sneak on board a ship, but knows that apart from advice, this is probably something she needs to do herself. If she needs his help entirely for the easiest part, he's going to have a hard time believing she can survive out there on her own.
