Has anyone been reading Garfield lately?

Can they fill me in on why it seems "different" now? Is someone new taking the lead in the "story" development?

I don't know, but I'm scared! Story development? Humour? Maybe he's totally outsourced the comic and some young do-gooder is all like "I'm going to make Garfield awesome!" despite Jon Davis' desire for unoffensive mediocrity. rec.arts.comics.strips didn't seem to have any more of a clue.
