[fic] Juxtaposition (formerly: "Eep. Naruto fic ^^;;")

Jan 28, 2005 13:18

Immersion for a few days in something doesn't always get this result, but immersion + exposure to bad fic sometimes does.

So anyway. Naruto fans among you, are there any LJ comms you'd suggest I post this to? I feel a tad unprepared. Thanks for the suggestions! <3

Juxtaposition

Sakura couldn't sleep. She was tired, the day had been long, and Tsunade as always had been as good as her word to go hard on her apprentice. She shouldn't have any trouble sleeping. The one thing that could have kept her up was no longer an issue. It was almost a week since Sasuke-kun had been back. It was time for her fears and anguish to quiet, for her heart to be peaceful. After the first few days, her excitement should be subsiding. This was what she had wanted - her lifetime heart wish: to have him back. She'd spent it on that, and not on hoping for him to finally see her as a woman. She'd never expected to be discontent with it. She thought she was grown up enough to know the difference between what was really important, and a child's foolish and selfish fantasies.

She should be able to rest. But she wasn't, she couldn't, and after tossing and turning and checking the clock for the tenth time in five minutes, she dragged herself up, put on clothes and went for a walk.

The night air was cool but not cold and there was a promise of spring to come in it, replacing the bite of winter. There wasn't more than the sliver of a moon, a crescent-shaped ice-blade in the sky, hardly giving enough light to see, but she was a shinobi, bred and trained, and her night vision was excellent.

The village was quiet, the streets nearly normal, much of the obvious damage from the attack almost a year before repaired. The village might look deserted, or sleeping, but she had comfort in the knowledge that the rooftops, the trees, the shadows would conceal night watchers, vigilant for the well-being of those who slept.

Her feet took her out beyond the streets, walking a familiar path she had traveled, half asleep, many early mornings. She felt a homesick ache for a moment, a pang for the innocence of those mornings, when there was nothing more urgent to face than meeting with her two partners to wait for their teacher. She never understood how Naruto could be so loud and sleepy all at the same time. She wondered if he was even loud in his sleep, and for a moment giggled to herself like the girl she used to be, imagining him snoring through the banging of irate neighbors. Sasuke was just the opposite - always quiet, always alert. No matter how early the hour, his eyes were never clouded with sleep. She'd wondered once if he just stayed up all night, with a throb of concern, but if so, he never seemed to suffer for it, his body was always powerful and quick.

As she passed the trees and got closer to the training area, she wished suddenly, with all her heart, that it was five o'clock instead of two, that the sun would soon paint the horizon's edge with rose, that her two partners would be waiting to argue and complain about the lateness of their instructor and why they had to be there before he.

The dark and stillness of the little clearing wasn't a surprise, however. Wishes for days gone by had no more power than morning mist against the sun.

For a little while, she leaned against a tree, letting memories wash over her as her skin became colder in the deeper shade under its branches. Rubbing her upper arms with her hands, she looked up at the waning moon and suppressed a sigh, feeling the pull of tiredness. It was time to go back. She could probably get an hour of sleep before she had to be up to meet the Fifth Hokage and begin her day.

As she turned, a sound caught her attention. It was nothing more than the soft rustle of something against the grass and leaves at the other edge of the clearing. Probably a raccoon on the hunt for his evening meal, or some other rightful dweller of the forest minding their proper affairs.

However her training, her experience, had given her an edge of caution even here, even now, like all of the survivors of this once-safe haven, and she paused, to listen, to peer into the darkness at the edge of the trees. To wait.

A hint of movement localized her focus to a spot next to a fallen half-trunk, familiar and used on many a bygone morning to support her half-awake body. There was something next to it, something quite a bit larger than a raccoon. Something that rocked just a little, rounded with no clear outline or feature until it shifted, reared up a little and broke apart.

She wasn't aware of her own mouth opening, or of her breath stopping the gasp in her chest out of shock. She was only aware of the night dark figures resolving before her sharpened gaze into a lighter head, and a darker one. She was only aware of two familiar profiles with only a few inches between them, and a familiar chuckle at an uncharacteristic softness of volume, smothered to silence as the silhouette rejoined.

She wasn't conscious of watching, she wasn't conscious of an eternity as the silent play unfolded, she wasn't aware of backing out of the clearing, of using every skill of stealth Kakashi-sensei had taught her until she was back in the village, she was only aware of running, running to her own place, then coming in quietly so as not to wake the house, finding her bed and sitting on it, arms wrapped around her knees, as her brain tried to process the incomprehensible. The few briefly glimpsed moments reran again and again in the theatre of her mind, faster and faster yet somehow clearer each time, as if seen through a night-scope, details crystallizing, expressions... the angle of Sasuke's head as he bent back, the focus of his dark eyes under lowered lids pinpointed to the mouth of the other boy, of Naruto, Naruto's mouth, the tiniest curve to Sasuke's lips as he quickly silenced the blond. The silhouette re-merging, rounded in outline as two pairs of arms wrapped around two bodies...

At some point well past the time she should have been up and gone, with daylight filling the room, the shock wore off and she ran into the bathroom, and threw up.

What she didn't hear, didn't see, as her feet took her away, was the silhouette re-breaking, Sasuke's eyes flickering. The crimson irises shifted, picking out the retreating ninja in absolute detail.

"What?" Naruto asked immediately, sharp enough to catch Sasuke's momentary distraction if not quite aware enough to have been alerted by its cause.

"Nothing," Sasuke answered, turning his gaze back to the face just before him. If Naruto saw the tiny, quickly masked flicker of amusement, he was too distracted himself to comment on it. Sasuke made certain of that distraction, leaning closer to slowly run his tongue along Naruto's lower lip.

A shiver moved through the blond boy's body along with a wave of heat. He'd never even imagined the feelings he'd experienced this night. They were overwhelming and unlike anything he could have predicted, and the source was the most unexpected part.

Licking his own lips, he wasn't imagining the taste of Sasuke there. His senses seemed to have sharpened and become extremely acute, at the moment focused on taste, smell, and touch. Had it not been over-ridden by the unfamiliar strength of a new musk, coming from both of them, he might have detected Sakura's subtle scent in the air of the clearing, but his senses were filled with the presence of his friend and rival.

Sasuke's mouth met his again, and his lips parted - he'd become a quicker study as he gained confidence. Sasuke's tongue invaded his mouth and he slid his own alongside it, immersing in the taste, the warmth, the pleasant sensation that made something inside him hum with life and energy. Naruto's arms tightened around Sasuke's body, pressing them closer together so he could feel the thump of Sasuke's heart against his own chest.

When Sasuke pushed, he went with it, until he was lying on his back on the grass, eyes opening to look up as the other boy lifted his head and looked down.

"I told you you'd like it," the confidence in Sasuke's voice was so familiar it almost compensated for the oddness of it all.

Almost.

"Why are we doing this?" Naruto asked, watching the dark eyes over him, eyes that never failed to confound him no matter what.

"Don't you like it?" That confidence slipped over the border into arrogance but there was something under it, something Naruto could feel but not quite grasp.

"Yeah," he answered honestly, having neither talent nor inclination for lying. "I like it. It was weird at first, though. But I don't understand why. Why you want to. With me."

"I told you, you're my best friend." Uchiha Sasuke smiled. It was an expression rare to the point of being endangered on that person's face. And there was something about it now that sent a tingle along Naruto's spine.

"Yeah, you told me that - right before you tried to kill me." Naruto wasn't trying to start a fight, far from it, he just wanted to understand. Even now, especially now, understanding Sasuke always seemed to elude him no matter how hard he tried.

"But you came back anyway. You kept coming back. Even when I left you for dead. Even when your master told you to give up." Sasuke tilted his head. "I don't understand why."

"Because you're important to me," the blond answered immediately. "Did you think I could leave you in his hands, in that damn fucking demon's hands?"

"Even if that's where I wanted to be?" Sasuke smiled again, and there it was again, that something, whatever it was, that made the tingle run down Naruto's back.

"Yeah," Naruto left it at a single word, uncomfortable with having this conversation in this way.

"That's why," Sasuke said, bending to lick the edge of Naruto's jaw. "That's why we're doing this."

Naruto shivered, disquieted, but another wave of heat moved through him and he lifted his chin a little as if offering his neck. The next thing he felt were warm lips against his throat and an open mouth, the edge of teeth that didn't close in a bite, and a hot tongue moving against his skin.

"Suuuu....Sasuke..." the name slurred out of his throat, halfway between protest and entreaty. He couldn't have objected, He'd never been the focus of this much attention in his life, never been held like this, touched, except in passing, or with poignantly rare fondness - a pat on the back, ruffling of hair from Iruka-sensei, and even less frequently, Kakashi-sensei. His body was hungry for it. So hungry to be touched and held, suddenly desperate for it, something he'd lived without his entire life.

Alarms went off when Sasuke's hands began infiltrating themselves into his clothes but at the same time it was like more wine to an alcoholic. Whatever it might do to him later, he couldn't refuse. He wanted it. He needed it, so much...

The night air was cool on exposed skin and he shivered, looking up, watching Sasuke slip out of his own shirt. There were scars laced across pale skin, something that fascinated him, since his own body never scarred, always healed, even from that horrendous wound made by Sasuke's Chidori through his chest. His hand raised and he traced some of the lines on the other boy's body with curious fingertips.

In turn, Sasuke reached down and touched that exact spot on Naruto's chest with his index finger. No trace... but he knew exactly where it had been. Barely to the right of center, centimeters from the heart he'd been aiming for.

/There are many more ways to wound than a direct thrust./

The voice in Sasuke's head was a memory, amused, superior, cold as death, and it slithered across his nerves unpleasantly.

Naruto saw the flicker of something across Sasuke's features. "What happened to you? I've heard you won't tell anyone, even Kakashi-sensei. They say you should talk about it." That was a slight prevarication, they were saying that he had to tell, he needed to be debriefed, both for the safety of Konoha village and for his own sake. "Do you... want to tell me?" He couldn't quite keep the doubtful note out of his voice, but then he'd certainly never expected Sasuke to want to kiss him either...

Another flicker across the dark boy's features was followed by the first sign of a familiar scowl that Naruto had seen all evening. It was almost comforting.

"Maybe. Maybe later." The growl was dismissive, but it wasn't a flat no, so Naruto allowed himself to be cautiously relieved.

"I still don't understand why you..." The half question was out of his mouth before he could close it, and Naruto felt another flush, this one of embarrassment. Stubbornness alone pushed the next words out. "You know that Sakura-chan..." Just the mention of her name gave Naruto the oddest feeling of being a traitor, or betraying someone he had spent years desiring.

"Shut up," Sasuke said, but his voice was devoid of anger, it was almost matter of fact. "That's not going to happen."

"But..."

This time Sasuke closed the subject by bending and taking another kiss, this one deeper, more invasive. Hotter, as evidenced by the flush that washed over Naruto's body and settled just below his belly. It wasn't possible not to respond. Not to suck on that tongue rhythmically invading his mouth, as he'd felt Sasuke do to his. Not to curve his arms around the other boy's bare chest.

When Sasuke shifted, straddling him, pressing down to rub still-clothed crotch against still-clothed crotch, a jolt went through Naruto that caused him to bite the other boy's lip. Sasuke grunted softly, but continued to press down, rubbing the bundle between his legs against the awakening body beneath. The brief metallic taste of blood invaded both their mouths but it repulsed neither. It only seemed to increase the heat.

When Sasuke's hands rubbed over his chest, Naruto found himself almost purring. Touch, touch... it felt so good, like drinking water after an infinitely prolonged thirst. He gasped as Sasuke's palms circled over his nipples, then jumped when those hands shifted to let fingers pluck and pinch. Naruto's hands sought something, anything to grasp onto and ended up settling on Sasuke's thighs, feeling the strong muscles beneath clothes and skin. For a response, Sasuke pushed his groin back and forth over the swelling and restricted flesh trapped in Naruto's pants. Naruto groaned loudly and then blinked as Sasuke's hand covered his mouth, muffling the sounds.

"Don't want night watchers showing up, thinking someone's murdering a cat down here," Sasuke muttered in half explanation. The blond was as innocent as he was ignorant, for all his old mouthy ways and "sexy no jutsu", but Sasuke felt confident he could take this as far as he chose to. Bending, he licked one of those erect nipples his fingers had been teasing and was almost bucked off by the arching of Naruto's back in his reaction.

The dweeb would hopefully heed his cautionary words. Sasuke lifted his hand from Naruto's mouth and was satisfied when the blond gaped and panted but didn't yell. Using both hands, Sasuke pulled Naruto's hands from his thighs and stretched them over the other boy's head.

"Don't fight, or I'll stop," he whispered, and then bent to lick and suckle on the other nipple.

Naruto gasped, swallowing a cry with an effort that hurt his throat. He twisted a little, he couldn't be still, the sensations were too... they were... But he didn't try to pull his hands away, because the threat - I'll stop - was well chosen. He didn't want this to stop. It would be unbearable.

Biting his lips to muffle an involuntary whimper, Naruto twisted and suffered the agonies of sweet pleasurable stimulation until Sasuke raised his head, letting the taut flesh escape with a soft pop.

Looking down, Sasuke surveyed his handiwork with an almost twisted feeling of satisfaction and an unfamiliar and unexpected surge of possessive fondness.

My best friend. /My prey.../

The cold slithery voice sent revulsion that made his teeth ache through him but he pushed it down with practiced ruthlessness.

Using one hand to encircle both Naruto's wrists, since the blond wasn't really trying to pull them away, Sasuke drew patterns on Naruto's smooth, tanned skin with the other and then slid his hand down south, pushing under the edge of the other boy's waistband. There was hardly any room, Naruto's cock was swollen and straining the fit of the pants, but the heat there was wonderful, it chased away the lingering chill in his mind.

"Guh.... Sas.... Sasuke!" Naruto hissed, craning his head to peer downward as if he couldn't believe the evidence of his senses. "What are you... where did you..."

'...where did you learn to do that?'

It didn't have to be spoken, it was plain enough. To avoid answering, Sasuke managed to curl his fingers around the throbbing shaft all pressed in by Naruto's pants, and squeezed it slightly. The blond's head fell back and he gasped, biting his lips to muffle the groan.

'You don't want to know, really.' "Want me to stop?"

It was an unfair question and Sasuke didn't wait for an answer. He bent and licked the perspiration off Naruto's heated skin, following a drop of it down to the blond's navel, pausing as he felt an unfamiliar pulse under his tongue. It wasn't blood. It was chakra. It tasted... red.

Lifting his head, he looked down at the squirming blond who stared at him with startled, wide blue eyes.

"Why you?" Sasuke whispered. "Why this? Because you wouldn't even die if I killed you, you stubborn idiot. You monster."

It was the word Naruto hated, but an inflection he'd never heard before, and it shocked him. But the shock didn't abate the heat.

Wriggling his arms out of Sasuke's grip, he pulled Sasuke's shoulders down and kissed the other boy's mouth desperately, kissed his cheek, jaw, neck, licking, filling his nose with Sasuke's scent. But the whisper came out nonetheless, right next to Sasuke's ear.

"Where did you learn this?"

He wasn't the fool he was often taken for.

Sasuke's hand around Naruto's dick tightened before letting go and sliding out. But only so he could pull at the fastening of Naruto's pants. And then his own.

Dark eyes met blue and acknowledged. "You don't..."

/He'd let them bind his arms behind his back, wrist to elbow, because Orochimaru said it was necessary to train him for the power. The blindfold was for their protection, they said. From the Sharingan. The ankle restraints and spreader made him afraid but he reminded himself that he was strong. He had so much more power already. Yet it wasn't enough. He wanted to be able to crush his brother, to extinguish him utterly from the face of existence. The hands on his body made him shiver. The ball shoved into his mouth and strapped around his head made him start to struggle. But somehow instead of remembering that he was powerful, he was here to obtain more power, he found himself back in that room in his mind, with the still silent bodies all around and the terrible eyes that knew no mercy fixed on his. Helpless. When they heard him whimper under the gag they'd known it was time. The feeling of Kabuto's hands lubricating him, then Kabuto's cock violating him, penetrating, thrusting... he felt the heat explode from his shoulder and crawl under his skin but he couldn't control it. The thrusting hurt but more than that it invaded him, and then that sudden tingle and burst inside. His screams were muffled, his tears ran down under the blindfold. But when that wet, slithering tongue wrapped around his cock, he broke, the internal explosion shattering him into a thousand pieces as the unspeakable consumed his fluids. When he began to choke on his own vomit behind the gag, they took it off, but it was not over, it was far from over./

"...want to know," Sasuke whispered, sliding out of his own pants to once more straddle his best friend, rubbing his body against Naruto's, feeling the heat, the good, clean heat, bending to take a hungry kiss from the man he couldn't kill. His friend.

His new lover.

/His prey./
