depends on the person or what the situation entails. I say be assertive, all you have to loose is your pride, but once you're over that then it's ok. If you're hitting on someone and it goes bad, just somehow turn it into a a compliment. After you say,...I really like you I would love to go on a date sometime then they say no,...you could say something like,...that's fine, if you ever change your mind... so on and so forth.
i have a horrific date journal i started it and would like people that have the need to share their bad dates with me to visit my community or journal feel free to share .... their is a form you fill in with questions about your date It really intertaining... ciao aatila
Just be yourself, if being assertive is natural to you, then that's the best thing to do, since moving forward its going to come out anyway. So be cool, no worries, no tensions, just be the way you are. This might have disappointments, but you sure will hit the jackpot!
If you're assertive you will increase the number of guys you talk to, and find some of the more passive guys, who tend to be more loyal and are generally easier to live with. On the down side you're also going to run the risk of finding guys who aren't interested in a relationship and may merely string you along to get laid.
If you're passive, only the assertive guys will approach you (which may be a really good thing, depending on your taste) and you may have less choice as to who you get to pick from.
