This is very, very, very photo heavy. Two nights of feeding raw, one old freezer-burned pheasant, each half ~1 lb of meat and bones.
Duncan is really hopeful it is now his turn to be fed.
Following the food from kitchen, through wash room, to bathroom
Into the big beige dinner bowl he goes
Is tiny, starving, pitiful waif, wasting away without his CHIK'N pheasant
Hungry 90 pound mutt held at bay by showerhead dangling too close to his food.
Roadblock removed, proceed with noms!
Look! no touching of meat with feet!
Mmm, juices...
using incisors to eat, accident foot useage
Finally using his molars to get to work
Going straight for the butt
Trying to split the legs from the back
One down, one to go
Still no feet on the meat
going
going
Clearly, it's time for seconds.
A NORMAL dog, when left in the big beige food bowl, would nosh away happily when the human says "Crap, I forgot the camera." and leaves the room, closing the door behind them. Duncan is not NORMAL. I returned to find him sitting at the far end of the tub (not easy for him, since he is pretty much tub sized when laying down) looking pitiful. Apparently, the shower was plotting against him in my absence.
Behold the WOE!
"Okay, I'm back." must have meant "It's a TRAP!" because the next face was a "Not fooling me. I will ignore the noms." (and I wish I could say the roll over his tailhead was just skin as he pressed his ass back in the tub to get even further from the breast over the drain, but SOMEONE has been "feeling sorry" for the Muttly One, and giving the big dog more food. Since Mom doesn't want to mess with raw, this is another way to control his intake.)
The second "okay" was believed. Nom!Pounce
His ass really is an afterthought.
There, he's mostly relaxed
Why is this frozen?! More WOE!
Still tasty
Feet braced on either side, completely useless
Looking for easier to eat pieces.
Mmm, juices
Accidental use of the foot to stop the meat getting away
Still wary of Surprise!Bath
Still not putting his feet on it, but using his armpit to hold it is somehow a workable solution? Not. Normal. (Hilarious)
Pheasant has very little fat, that little yellow rim is it.
Lifting his leg so it's not touching his food.
Not touching anything but the mouth.
Apparently, this hold worked very well for him. Weirdo. It was shortly all gone.
