What is your weapon of choice?
A question about wepaons, huh? Heh. I guess that’s finally a question that’s right up my alley-I really don’t like actually having to fire at people and fight, but I do like target shooting, and I am a gunner, so I guess it’s kind of necessary for me to know a lot of stuff about weapons and which ones I can work best with. I mean, it’d be kind of weird if a gunner didn’t know stuff about what they work with, right? Well, maybe more dumb than weird, because then they wouldn’t know how to use what they’ve got, but anyway… I really don’t like to fight in general and I especially don’t like having to fight close up when I do, so I definitely know that my favorite weapon isn’t my fists or anything like that. Besides, I have two types of weapons with me all the time, although one is almost always in subspace, partially because having a rifle like that out all the time isn’t a good idea and partially because constantly carrying it around would get to be kind of annoying. Anyway, the weapons I usually use are my rocket launchers and my rifle. I’ve used other types of guns and stuff before, but those are the ones I always have with and that I’ve used the most. But out of the two of those, it’s the rifle I use the most. It’s aim isn’t as great as the launchers-if I need to be really accurate and don’t have anything else on hand, those are always good for backup and they’ve saved my aft a couple of times, believe me-but it has a range that’s better and it definitely packs a punch. I guess you could take that in the literal way, too-I’ve seen it put holes through a couple feet of solid rock before. Which can make doing target practice kind of interesting sometimes, because it’ll seem perfectly normal, then you get your shot off just a bit or you aim at just the wrong rock and boom, there’s suddenly a big hole in the rock that makes it weak and before you know it you’ve accidently caused a rock slide and are having to haul aft out of there before you get buried. But that doesn’t happen all that often, at least. And it makes things interesting. Dangerous, yeah, but interesting. And speaking of that, Wheeljack’s new inventions can definitely be the weapon of choice sometimes, because a lot of time, even if they aren’t meant for destruction, they’ll cause plenty of it. Sometimes just sending one of those things in the direction of the Decepticons and running is the best tactic we’ve got. But they aren’t all that stable-they have this tendency to explode and nearly take you with them-and testing them out can be kind of-okay, really-dangerous, so I don’t think I could call them my weapon of choice even if they do work pretty well most of the time. Even though I’ve tried using a lot of other stuff before, my weapon of choice is still just my rifle. Which I guess is what you’d expect to hear from a gunner, but it’s true.
