Two things:

I'm off to Winnipeg for a couple of days.  Ah, the places you'll go for your significant other.  Apparently it is less deadly in the summer, unless you find flash floods and mosquitos and violent crime deadly.  Luckily I'm not one of those people...

1) I got a new job!  After feeling rather underused at my receptionist position, I applied as a contributor to the Torontoist blog (apparently the most widely-read blog of its kind in Toronto).  It's not much--I get paid an astonishing $4 a post for whatever I feel like writing once a week.  I'm both excited and anxious that I've got too much ( Read more... )

Holy Crap for busy! This was Architecture and Design month in Toronto, so I've spent every weekend running around on city tours, Doors Open events, and culminating with the new ROM crystal opening this weekend!

Somehow, I managed to not register the fact that the annual Toronto documentary film festival, HotDocs, is launching tonight!  Because film festivals tend to be rather expensive, I've never gotten the chance to take advantage of the much-vaunted Toronto International Film Festival every September, nor smaller festivals such as HotDocs.  Now that I ( Read more... )
