No way in hell cactaurs should be this far out of the desert and in such a number in a dock in the middle of the forest. Someone may be trying to use this as a distraction in order to rob the ships here or possibly even to kidnap someone ( Read more... )

Better be prepared for everything, then.

Bar everything. Put the doctors on standby. Should we make everyone gather in the cargo hold? It maybe safest if the cactuars are real, but we'll leave the rest of the ship unguarded. If they're distractions, then we need men who can fight.

Yeah, for everything or nothing to happen.

Maybe just the kids and those who can't fight. If there are thieves I'd rather have them steal our stuff then have them cut down one of the kids wandering loose.

That being said, I don't like the idea of people or creatures messing with the ship, and I don't like giving up our defenses from the beginning.

Fighters can stay up and help keep the deck clear. I'd not like to gamble on whether or not those needle attacks could bring down a door if it came to that. If we put ourselves all in one place, we'd be out of options in that event.

We can reinforce all entrances leading from the outside. I think we have time for that if we work quickly. We have lumber from the repairs.

The fighters can stay waiting for if anyone does manage to get in the doors? There's no need to risk our fighters out on the deck.

All right, let's start gathering the kids and non-fighters in the cargo bay. I assume you're fighting?

Oh yeah. And so is Jean. She's got some magic it seems. Anyone else who does...gather them.

I've also heard they don't like water, but I'm not sure it that's true or one of those old wives tales.
