Whew

Spent the afternoon with Pete, setting up baby registries at Target and Babies R Us. The kid may be teeny tiny when he gets here, but he's gonna need an entire house full of stuff!!!

I think we should just get a floor pen like we have for the ferret, and let the kid free-range it. Save us a lot on diapers! ;)

I'm pretty sure they can eventually be litter trained.

It's the aunt's job to train them, right?

Unfortunately, it doesn't work. Trust me, I have tried, I have three of them! Hard to believe that something that small and helpless should need so much stuff! Wait until you have to travel anywhere, after he's here, it's like you have to bring the entire house with you before you can actually leave..LMAO!

His daily travel bag will be bigger than my weekend vacation bag! :)

Month ago Jo and me bought stuff for baby (bed, mattress, sheets, blankets, baby bath, etc)
It's so expensive... but so wonderful! Our spare room is full of these stuff. can't wait for it all :)

Is it common there to have a 'baby shower' party, where all your friends and family come and bring gifts of baby supplies? I don't know how we would manage everything without those gifts!

here that's not common. I can get gifts from people after baby is born :)
but here is common that no one except parents and grandparents sees baby first 40 days.

It used to be quite common here that baby stayed home with just family the first 6 weeks, but it's not really anymore.
A 'baby shower' before the birth is so common now that I don't know anyone who has had a baby and didn't have at least one. Lots of people have 2 or even 3. Their family will throw one, their workplace, maybe their church or social group... But it is only for the 1st baby. The expectant parents choose a baby store and go and create a list there of the things they need but can't buy, then the guests can go and buy things from that list to help them. It really is a big help! :) (maybe you could get a friend to throw one for you, and you could start a trend, heehee!!)
