He hadn't had to stay too long in the infirmary, which he was grateful for. He was a little tired, and stiff in his joints, but overall, he thought he'd gotten off pretty light. All things considered.

Stepping onto the lawn, he paused as he listened. Head tilted before Neville turned his head to locate the source of the sound. Curious, he roamed over toward Danny, pausing a respectable distance away before he lifted a hand in a wave. "Hullo," he called softly. "Are you new here?"

He always felt bad for people who arrived on task-days. Those were always the worst days, when everyone was cross or suspicious or getting beat up.

Danny looked up with a light smirk, his fingers never moving from the strings.

"New," he agreed, "They told me it's never good to arrive on days when something's gone mental, but I did anyways. Lucky me, right?"

He gave a light shrug; it didn't bother him all that much. Until someone started to point one of those muggle firesticks at him or something.

"So are there a lot of wizards here?" he ventured curiously, "I heard that ... but there was something about timelines? Sounded like rubbish to me, really."

He shook his head as he moved a little closer once it seemed certain the boy wasn't going to growl or bite him or anything. "There's a lot, yeah. I think they've got enough for two full quidditch teams now. 'cept some left. I know Rose did. Rose Weasley. She's from the future ..." he trailed off. "Well, from my future, anyway."

Moving close enough, he stuck out a hand toward Danny. "Neville Longbottom," he introduced himself. "And it wasn't rubbish, about the timelines. There are some from Harry and my year around, and his parents are around, and his kids are around. None of mine have shown up yet."

He wondered if that simply meant he didn't have ... what? Worthy children? But maybe he hadn't had any at all yet. He wasn't exactly a hit with the ladies now; why would the future change that?

"Rose Weasley?" he ventured, "I know her."

Well, knew of her. Though maybe if timelines were off here, it wouldn't even be the Rose he knew. Shrugging, he stopped playing a moment to shake Neville's hand.

"Danny Harris," he offered, "Ravenclaw."

Though maybe house didn't matter, it still seemed the sort of thing you could mention. After all, which house you'd been sorted into said a bit about your personality. And he was a proud 'claw, all things considered.
