Strong hands curled into the sheets and twisted; fingers digging into the fabric as a grimace contorted onto the facial features of the elemental mutant. A low sheen of sweat had covered his bare upper body as sounds of discontentment escaped his lips. Twisting and turning, turning and twisting, it was the same as it had been for the past hour. Sure Brennan had been asleep, but was it really worth it? At this point, had he been awake he'd probably would have opted to just remain awake until he was due to meet Dani for breakfast and then shopping. But that wasn't the case, not at the given moment. The wretched nightmare consumed him, inch by inch.
As much as he tried to wake himself up, he couldn't bring himself out of Naxcon, there he was, with the rest of the people whom he'd grown to love and call family, all holding for dear life as the company Shalimar's dad worked for began to go under, literally. It was all flying by so fast as if he were re-living it for real rather than in a dream-scape. The next scene unfolding in front of his eyes was a gurney, a red-head laying motionless on it with her Comm Link falling to the street. Finally his mind had seen enough horror "EMMA!!" Brennan jolted up with a scream. Panting heavily, as he curled his knees to his chest. Elbows rested on his knees, head resting in the palm of his hands. The wetness on his cheeks would be a mixture of sweat and tears. Sure he had cried when the initial experience had happened, but this dream were so real he had almost wondered if Henry were back. A quick check of his wrist would deny that thought.
His eyes flew to his Comm Link, holding it a foot from his lips, as he called for Adam, Jesse, and Shalimar, in a near broken voice. Still no answers. He really was beginning to think he was the sole survivor of Mutant X, and that outright scared the fuck out of him. Tossing the covers off of him he shifted off the bed until his feet were flat against the floor. He hadn't realized just how covered in a thin layer of sweat he was until he felt the beads trickle down his forehead. With that he settled for taking another hot shower. It'd do him a world of good at this point.
After having turned the water stream off and drying off for that matter, he just settled for wearing the clothes he arrived in. Securing his jeans in place with the use of his belt, he drew his shirt over his head, smoothing out any wrinkles that may have tried claiming the fabric. Snagging his trench coat he slid his arms in and settled it on his shoulders. Making sure the currency he had shoved in his pocket yesterday were still there he figured he was about as good as he was going to get. Slipping his footwear on he did a quick pat down to make sure he had everything before finally shutting his dorm door behind him. He still had about fifteen minutes before he had to meet Dani, but it's not like he was going to do anything. By the time he reached the first floor, he was less inclined to go anywhere, stopping outside her door, he slowly slid down the wall into a seated position. Head coming to rest in his palms again he worked on fully calming himself down. That was the point of the shower, but it had only done so much. He just needed to get his day started, that would bring him out of this slump he felt himself slipping into.
