Day Twenty-Two - Kyle has Breakfast

Summary: Kyle has breakfast and contemplates what life will be like on Serenity, and is joined by Simon and River for some bonding time.
Kyle was absently spooning cereal into his mouth while he read one of the books he'd found in the library. Sure, River could tell him all about her home, and her ship, but by reading about it, he could know things on his own as well, and actually contribute to the conversation.
Beside the book he had propped open in front of him was another one that he was using simultaneously for cross referencing - and had he been a lesser person, he might have had a notepad to take notes. As it was, he retained everything he read, applying it to the knowledge he already head to form connections.
Fingers ran absently through hair that was sometimes pink - though was currently black. Clearly, the charm was fading. He made a note to ask River when he saw her later if she wanted to find one of the wizards to recharm it. It shouldn't be hard to find one, after all.
Pushing the empty cereal bowl aside, Kyle reached for an orange. Leaning the books against each other so they'd stay open, he started to peel the orange.
