Day Twenty-two - Exploding what?

Summary: James finds Sirius teaching Corey how to play Exploding Snap, and they opt to venture to a joke shop. However, James and Sirius get a little distracted with each other and politely ditch Corey to go entertain each other

James was still rubbing the sleep out of one eye when he stumbled in, laying eyes - and ears - on his best mate playing exploding snap with one of the girls from the contest the night prior. He raised his brows but declined comment on that particular subject.

"Oi," he said, "Started without me did you, Pads? Could've woken me up, you know."

Though he reasoned he likely wouldn't have been particularly receptive to that, as per usual. But that wasn't the point.

"Could have, but I didn't fancy a kick in the balls," he said. "James, this is Corey. Corey, James." He gestured back and forth between them before he glanced to James. "Care to join us? We can deal you in on the next hand. I taught her the rules. You know. Our rules?"

Because they had different rules from the standard ones. Just made things more fun.

"Hi," Corey said with a little wave. "Nice to meet you, James." She scooted over in case he was inclined to settle on the floor with them.

His grin widened and he nodded to Corey before settling down on the floor between the pair of them.

"Nice to meet you too," he ventured, "I hope Sirius hasn't been taking you for a ride."

Though he wouldn't have been the least bit surprised if he had. After all, that was what they did, wasn't it? He chuckled before nodding to Sirius as well.

"Right, deal me in next hand, mate," he agreed, settling to watch this hand play out.

"Taking me for a ... ah. No. Unless you mean that in some context other than the one my mind flicked to. We've been completely clothed the entire ..." she glanced at her watch. "Five minutes we've been up here."

Sirius grinned. "'course I was, mate. What kind of Marauder would I be if I hadn't?" He leaned over to kiss James softly - though briefly, mindful of the fact not everyone enjoyed public displays.
