Exercise

First day of exercising yesterday. 1.9 miles run/walk with two pounds in each hand. May have overdone it a bit, going from nothing to that. Shins were a little achy last night, and I do *not* need new/renewed shin splints. Shoulder twinged, too, so I need to think about my rotator cuff. That said, it feels good to be exercising again. Try walking instead of running. Leaping right into running isn't a good idea. You may injure yourself and then give up. Hugs. Good start!

Running when I can, walking when I need to. Heavyhands isn't about running, per se, it's about moving and keeping your heart rate up.
Stomach's a little cranky this evening, so no exercise tonight.
When it gets too cold to go out (probably in about 20 minutes, hereabouts), I'll switch to something else. I read a book recently called "You Are Your Own Gym," about using one's own body weight for working out. I'm thinking I'll focus on aerobic exercise when the weather will allow, and maybe strength-conditioning when it won't.
Or I may just go back to being a shlub. But I don't want to: I need to be able to keep up with The Girl :(

Take it slow. I don't really like doing it, but at our age it's good for us.

Concur on all counts! Hoping I do come to enjoy it, though.

I figured you'd be supportive, both by your natural tendency to support people and your own exercise discipline. I don't know if I'll be sufficiently disciplined to record regularly, but I do want to keep doing some kind of exercise. At my age, it's not so much an option as a necessity.
