Mac Tech Update
Mac users Hear ye hear ye, Mac users be warned...
Don't kernel panic with file vault running. File Vault still isn't ready for server use. It fried the preferences of every app I had running at the time. (Safari, iPhoto, iTunes, etc.) Most of this was recoverable (because I BACKUP, you should too!) The backup was from around 7-27, so it's not great, but workable. I can attempt to reimport some of the pictures that weren't corrupted.
As I mentioned File Vault killed iPhoto, I eventually fixed the problem by reverting to backups, which it seems to like more than trying to rebuilding the database. ("Your Library was created by an unreleased version of iPhoto (Fuckoff!)(Quit)(GetABeer)") It also corrupted my last photo import which means that the pictures from Anna's party are unrecoverable unless Norton pulls off a miracle.
MySQL is now installed, anyone know how to import databases?
Use Adium if you don't already, the latest version is teh r0x. Quack!
Chris loaded me up with some tunes and iLife, which turned out to be a god send with the whole iP situation. He also loaded me up with Patron, but that's another story.
Next up is configure postfix, install ruby, rails, typo, get the sql database working, and fix the motherfucking id3 tags that iTunes nuked.
