the Good Book

I've decided to start reading the bible again...

a little bit each night, just like my sunday school teachers used to say I should. It's weird how these things work out, isn't it?

Does anybody have any favourite bits? I recently re-read the book of Job and realized how rad it is.

Job is the best book of the bible. My grandmother would read it to me when I was young. It was really the first bit of philosophy that I ever encountered.

the philosophy is: if you take your lumps like a man, god will give you prettier children in the end

I always thought Job was a much better story than it was a book

i guess liking bits with jesus is kind of cliche, but i remember being consistently amused by the bit where he's debating with the pharisees over the adulterous woman and then it mentions how he bends down and starts drawing in the dust in the middle of their speeches.
