1) not that i've read and Delueze and Guattari, but from experience with a partner who read too much, i feel a need to warn against, well, reading too much of that stuff! or, letting it get to you're head in an excessive fashion!

2) childrens books are dreadful, indeed! i was compelled to purchase a picture book in hobart, recently, however, which has delighted not only me but all and sundry who've passed thorugh my house over the last few days - it's by neil gaeman (possibly i have spelt that incorrectly - i mean to make reference to the bloke who writes sandman comics) and dave mckean (who, incidentally, often illustrates snadman comics) and is called 'the day i swapped my dad for two goldfish'. it's really quite wonderful and renews my hope for the wee people. that said, more people should write childrens books, they really should!
