Today's economy is the result of the lack of financial literacy in America and our educational systems, both public and private. In a recent study conducted by the Department of Economics, 79% of students tested received a C or lower grade in personal finance. I scoffed at home ec when I was still in school, but the more I see of the adult world, the more I think students would have benefitted from it. I did take an economics class, but we covered investing more than budgetting...at least I only remember the investing part.
