Ask your librarian if the library system would be able to get the books that you would like to read in. They might be able to oblige once they know that there is a demand.
I agree with this suggestion. My mom used to work at a library and she told me that libraries often share books with different branches if someone puts in a request for a book. You might not get the book as fast as you like to, but you can still read it eventually.
I also have a love of books. For me, Ive made it into a game..a hunt...to see where I can find them for free. Sometimes I have to wait. But its very rare in todays world for a book to ever truely be unavailable. There is always ebay..etc. I understand being a collector. But part of collecting for me, is the means of getting it for free/cheap. The two Stargate titles you are missing, Im sure they are out there somewhere. It just means you can't go to amazon and pay full price to have them shipped to your house. There *are* copies out there

Half.com has been a lifesaver for me. I love books. But at $20 plus a pop at the bookstore it gets too expensive. On half.com I more then once found books with asking price of $8 when it retails for $22. Huge savings.
