I posted a kind of a rant earlier. I thought better of it, though so I deleted it. Maybe another time. Ironically it was about people being offended about other people's journal entries. Bah! I'm so gutless

Heh! Fate apparently smiled on me and laughed at you, because between the time you posted your rant and the time you deleted your rant, I read your rant. I thought it hit the proverbial nail on the proverbial head rather nicely.
I had the weirdest feeling that may have happened!
I have a few friends that are having problems of that sort and I really get tired of it happening to them. It always strikes me as odd that people choose to get offended by what someone writes- and yes, that's "choose".
Maybe its something in the water or we've been invaded by aliens, but here lately I've noticed a lot of people leaving comments to the journal entries of others that say in effect "why do you write stuff like that?", or "be more positive", etc etc. In another friend's journal, when I saw someone else had left a comment like that, I replied about how "its *your* journal, write about what *you* want to write about, and if others get offended, oh well". And that really is how I feel about it. If I make a factual error in one of my own journal entries, please, tell me about it and I'll correct it. But if the only reply they can make is "you shouldn't post that", buzz off

I don't think ALL SUVs are evil. In fact, I thought your old truck would be less fuel=efficient. *shrugs* Plus, I'm sure they might make some that are somewhat fuel-efficient. So, I don't necessarily think, "Hater of the Environment" when I see an SUV.
Heh. My "new" truck is an '85 and my "old" car is an '81. Both run great (except that the car's left front bearing assembly has a problem I've never been able to pin down.) I'm not sure I could take all the "safety" I'd have with a new vehicle ;)
Hehe! My wife said something about getting rid of the truck a few days ago. I told her "not no, but HELL no! I have my blood in that truck and it's mine until it disintegrates!"
The only safety feature I've seen so far that I've had problems with is the automatic seatbelts Ford put in a few of their cars. Those were a pain- literally! I've had hair pulled out by those before!

Maybe I'll revise it tonight and rewrite it.
